Hosts
Hi, I am Henry. Lots of my time is taken up with the farm work or growing redcurrants in the orchard, or just keeping track of the animals. Maxine insists on giving them all names! My other hat is that of a cook - although Heimat Chalets are self contained, if you wish to have a complete break, I am happy to cook your evening meal for you to enjoy in your Chalet.
Ich spreche Deutsch, "Switzerdeutsch" e un poco Italiano.
See you soon.
Hello, I am Maxine. Thank you for taking time to browse our website. I am sure
that should you choose to stay at Heimat Chalets you will enjoy nature's
"moods" at Heimat as much as I do - I love the serenity, the absolute
silence, only broken by the moo of a cow or the chirp of a bird; Heimat
is our home, in the middle of 40 hectares (100 acres) in a special part
of southern Tasmania. Do come and enjoy it - I look forward to meeting
you.
Some comments from our past guests
“We chose Heimat Chalets from an accommodation booklet, it did not say enough how beautiful the setting was or how perfectly they are set up for overnight stays or even a week or longer - they even have a perfect set-up for campervans and caravans.”
—Kerrie and Brad Winston Hills, NSW.
“I have never stayed anywhere where attention to detail and friendliness was evident everywhere. The Chalet felt like our
home from the moment we stepped inside, though it had been home to countless others. Just to have new music was a treat!
Truly a beautiful experience, we wished we lived in Tassie to take more advantage of this special place.”
—Peter and Dale Yanala, QLD.

“We were impressed with Heimat, the Chalets were a home away from home-comfortable, beautifully decorated with great
attention to detail. Our family enjoyed our brief stay and we all wished we had been staying longer to enjoy the relaxing
surroundings - we especially enjoyed the BBQ Hut”
—Graham and Jan Castlecrag, NSW.
“I am a perfectionist and a serious holiday maker to boot! - facilities such as this rarely meet the expectations created by
their advertising - This one exceeded my expectations in every way! I will return.”
—Mike and Allison Hillarys, WA.

“Heimat Chalets was the best accommodation we received during our two week trip around Tasmania. Maxine and Henry, the proprietors were friendly and helpful, the quality of accommodation and the little “extras” - chocolates, games for the kids, CDs available in room and lots of utensils in the kitchen - and divine breakfast provisions, all surpassed our expectations.
Our children voted Heimat as their best stay - we wished we had stayed longer”
—Craig and Alessandra Bella Vista, NSW.
